Crating is usually associated with dogs but there are certain times when a crate makes sense for cats too. If your cat is injured or has had surgery, cage rest is often advised by your vet. A pet crate can also be a sanctuary for a new kitten or a safe space for an adult cat integrating into a new home with resident dogs or cats. Unlike with dogs, a crate for a cat must be large enough for a comfortable bed, litter tray plus food and water bowls.
